Hi there and welcome back!
Here we are in 2021! 2020 had been a year to put it lightly. This past year was full of challenges and stress but also filled with newfound hope and beginnings. Reflecting on the one word 2021 Twitter thread my one word for 2021 is persistent. I chose this word because I really hope to push through this year and get through all the challenges that lie ahead with positivity. I feel as if 2020 has gotten most of us down given all that occurred during this time so persistence for me means shedding the funk of the past year and doing the best I can in our current situation. A part of this mood for the new year is to put myself out there because when it comes to myself as a teacher because I still feel my inner monologue telling me that I am not ready. Which, I definitely am not ready because I still have a lot to learn but I hope to try my best to be comfortable and confident in my upcoming practicum and practicums to come. Overall, I just want to stop putting off things that I know are more work but could turn out very cool in my projects and assignments as far as my approach to them. This is a goal of mine because I think it would provide me with more understanding and learning in the long run. Throughout the rest of this program, because we will be finished by the time the year is through, I just want to power through as far as this program as well as work and personal life. With respect to this, I hope to find a good balance and organization for myself in order to get through this year because I know it will become busier and busier as time goes on. To be honest, I am a little nervous and worried about what challenges need to be faced this year and all that needs to be done but I think that is natural. I am also excited to experience and learn all I can this year which I think is the upside to my nerves and worry. Overall, I look forward to this year and what it has to offer and I wish all my fellow teacher candidates the best as we embark on this journey. I hope to do all that I can this year and continue to build who I am as an educator.
